Did you know that being in touch with nature is good for your health?
In fact, it has been shown that taking a nature vacation can boost your creativity, increase your attention span, and even reduce depression. With the constant bombardment of information that modern life presents, a nature vacation can be a good way to press the reset button.
A natural setting can also improve the quality of your sleep. Being out in the natural sunlight helps set your internal clock, which tells you when to eat or sleep and normalizes hormonal functions that occur at specific times a day. Various studies have shown that human stress levels actually decrease after exposure to peaceful, calm colors such as blue and green.
Los Cabos in Baja California Sur offers many opportunities to get close to nature, with its eclectic mix of mountains, desert, beaches, ocean and breathtaking natural landscapes. Regardless of your interests, you will find a suitable nature activity in Los Cabos. It could be as simple as going for a walk along the beach or as thrilling as zip lining through the canyons of Baja California Sur. Here are a few examples:
If golf is your game, there are many golf courses to choose from in Los Cabos. You can golf in the morning or in the late afternoon when it is cooler(and the green fees are less expensive). Try Cabo Campestre San Jose, Cabo Real Golf Course or Puerto Los Cabos Golf Course.
There are many beaches where you can go swimming, snorkeling or sunbathing. Medano Beach is one of the most popular swimmable beaches in Cabo. If you want to get away from the crowds, try Santa Maria Beach or go to Cabo Pulmo which will truly transport you to another world. Many tours will take you to these beaches. Cabo Pulmo also offers some excellent diving spots to explore.
If you are up for some excitement, you should try the many zipline tours that Los Cabos offers. These tours will take you through the wilderness and you will be breathing in the mountain air and zipping through the canyons. You can also take an ATV tour along the coastline of the Sea of Cortez, taking in some of the desert landscape along the way.
You can always go for walks or go kayaking at the nearby parks in San Jose del Cabo. Learn about the different cacti at the Wirikuta Botanical Garden. See the birds as you kayak at the San Jose estuary in San Jose del Cabo. There are about 125 acres of estuary that is home to various bird species.
